Time to Rest — book cover
"The sun is sinking low, my darling, the birds are in their nests. And you have spent the day exploring, so now it’s time to rest…"

A beautiful and timeless Australian lullaby — the debut picture book collaboration between Jack and Natasha Carty. Time to Rest moves through the soft, golden end of day: the sun going down, the birds settling, small creatures finding their way home.

Lyrical and gentle, written with the rhythm and warmth of a bedtime song, it's a book made to be read aloud — slowly, quietly, as the day fades and small eyes grow heavy.

The book that started it all. And the one that comes back to the bedside, night after night.

The Song

Time to Rest

Before it was a book, Time to Rest was a song. Jack wrote it as a lullaby — the kind that parents find themselves humming without quite knowing why, the kind that settles something in the room.

The song and the book share the same quiet heart: an invitation to slow down, to let the day go, to rest easy. The book contains a QR code — scan it to be taken straight to the song. Or stream it now on your favourite platform:

About the Book

A lullaby in words and pictures

Jack has always written songs that feel like they belong at the end of the day — unhurried, honest, warm. Time to Rest carries that same quality into picture book form. The text moves like a song verse, each page turn a breath, each spread a settling.

Natasha's illustrations draw on the soft light of an Australian evening — warm skies, gentle creatures, the feeling that the world is wrapping itself up kindly for the night.
